WA Governor Chris Dawson to apologise to traditional owners for Pinjarra Massacre

The descendants of people who were murdered in one of Western Australia's most brutal attacks on Aboriginal people — the Pinjarra Massacre — are set to hear an historic apology from the WA governor today after he was invited on country. It is the first time the Bindjareb people of the Noongar Nation will have the deaths of their ancestors publicly recognised in such a way, 191 years on. Now, WA's current Governor Chris Dawson will be welcomed by traditional owners to stand on their country and acknowledge the massacre that took place.
