The descendants of people who were murdered in one of Western Australia's most brutal attacks on Aboriginal people — the Pinjarra Massacre — are set to hear an historic apology from the WA governor today after he was invited on country. It is the first time the Bindjareb people of the Noongar Nation will have the deaths of their ancestors publicly recognised in such a way, 191 years on.  Serial killer Eric Edgar Cooke became the last person to be executed in Western Australia when he was hanged in Fremantle Prison on October 26, 1964. Over five years, Cooke murdered at least eight people in opportunistic attacks, with no obvious common traits between the victims.
